Lingering of an earlier event
Lingering of an Earlier Event by Impure Company/Hooman Sharifi had its world wide premiere the autumn of 2009 in Steirischer Herbst, one of the largest festivals in Europe. The production examined the physical relations between the people in an imaginary country, wishing to give the audience an opportunity to imagine how it would be to live in a country with an excess of time, in which movement is not exclusively based on change.

Lingering of an Earlier Event by Impure Company/Hooman Sharifi takes place in an imaginary country in which time is of extraordinary importance. This is a country yet to arise, but still it seems as if it has always existed. Because the citizens are always exposed to an unnumbered amount of actions, they can co-exist in constant dissonance. They can also allow a problem to exist for so long the solution reveals itself. In this land of endless opportunity citizens may fight each other because of their radical opposition against any change.
Lingering of an Earlier Event by Impure Company/Hooman Sharifi was supported by Arts Council Norway and the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts). It directs its thanks to Marianne van Kerkhoven, Tanzlabor 21 Mousonturm in Frankfurt, In Transit 09 HKW in Berlin, Art Stations Foundation in Poznan, and Asle L. Pettersen.
