Peter Grimes

Peter Grimes (1965 and 1979) was an opera production by The Norwegian National Opera. Peter Grimes was the Norwegian premiere of the opera of the same title by Benjamin Britten (music) and Montague Slater (libretto), after George Crabbe’s narrative poem The Borough. The production was performed by The Norwegian National Opera in Folketeateret.

The director was Joan Cross. When the production was revived in 1979, the director was Jens Chr. Ek.

Sven Olof Eliasson performed the title role in 1965; Caj Ehrstedt performed it in 1979.
