Iphigenia in Tauris

Iphigenia in Tauris (1969) was an opera production by The Norwegian National Opera. Iphigenia in Tauris was based on an opera by Christoph Willibald von Gluck (music) and Nicolas François Guillard (libretto), Iphigénie en Tauride. The production was performed on The Norwegian National Opera’s main stage in Folketeateret.

The director was Lars Runsten.

Ingrid Bjoner and Mirjana Dančuo performed the role of Iphigenia.

Knut Skram performed the role of Orestes.

Iphigenia in Tauris was also performed in Drammen in 1970.

In 1972, Iphigenia in Tauris toured with the Norwegian National Opera’s touring company Riksoperaen to Narvik and Harstad.

Iphigenia in Tauris was performed in Gothenburg in 1971.

Iphigenia in Tauris was performed 3 times in Barcelona in February 1974.
