Madame Butterfly
Madame Butterfly (1964) was an opera production by The Norwegian National Opera. Madame Butterfly was based on an opera by Giacomo Puccini (music) and Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa (libretto), Madama Butterfly. The production was performed by The Norwegian National Opera in Folketeateret.
The director was Einar Beyron. Per E. Fosser took over the direction in 1970.
Kari Frisell, Felicia Weathers, Irma Urrila and Anne Nyborg performed the role of Cho-Cho-San, Madame Butterfly.
Sven Olof Eliasson, Rolf Björling, Emilio Tossuto and Caj Ehrstedt performed the role of B. F. Pinkerton.
Madame Butterfly toured with Riksoperaen (The Norwegian National Opera’s touring company) to Trondheim, Narvik and Harstad in 1966.
Madame Butterfly was performed at The National Stage in 1967 (6 performances).
