"A Doll's House is one of the most performed plays in the world. Perhaps because Ibsen understands real people. He knows our ways to be and our thoughts. Now director Audny Chris Holsen has grabbed hold of A Doll's House and brought Nora and Thorvald (SIC) Helmer into the 21th century.
It has become a psychologic drama about life built on false illusions and life-lies. In the married couple Nora and Thorvald's doll house, idyll is apparently ruling. But there are many dark rooms connected to the Helmers, and the question is who one can trust when secrets begin to press against the surface?
A Doll's House is about the human lack of consciousness and the roles we play for one another. It is a story of coupledom and individuality, about family and the lack of such."

Lillian Bikset, Syntetisk samtid (literally: Synthetic contemporaneity), Dagbladet February 4 2016:
"The stage is dressed in red: The colour of Christmas, the colour of love, the colour of passion, eroticism and rage. But the nuance Åse Hegrenes has chosen is not Christmassy red, not hearty red, not angry red. The colour is chemically artificial, like synthetic candy. In this, there is a parallel to Nora and Torvald's marriage. (...) In recurrent choreographed interludes between scenes Nora's increasing nervousness, her disturbance and her connection to the children are expressed. A bit too many and a bit too psychologically staged interludes, in the eye of the undersigned. In the music (by Halvor Lillesund and Vegard Fossum) the emphasis is on dissonance. In the textual scenes body language is central, too. Sigrid Edvardsson is the choreographer, and her work is given enough of a place, she could be called co-director."
