Lillian Bikset, Innsikt i unntaksmennesket (literally: Insight into the human exception), Dagbladet 10.01.2015:
"Kjetil Bang-Hansen directs Brand as an attempt to understand what moves the monomaniac. Brand seeks meaning in the absolute. This removes him from the people around him, but that only makes him more desperate in his search for univocal answers. (...) The Norwegian Theatre's Brand is theatre alludes to the allegoric symbolic power of visual arts. Forces and opposing forces, principles and lack of principles, make up motifs for people and milieus. John-Kristian Alsaker's stage design is sculptural, angular and hard, with several references to Jan Groth's stage curtain."
