Germinal is a theatre production by the French artist duo Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger, produced in 2012.
Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger shared responsibility for the concept and the direction of the production.

At the webpage of Black Box Teater the following, among other things, is written about Germinal:
"In Germinal we meet four individuals who create their own world from scratch. They see the empty stage as a fertile place where everything can be created. Underway they bump into fundamental problems, as absurd as they are thought and laughter provoking. Because these individuals aren't really humans, or actors, before they discover that they are able to think. Through conveying their thoughts to others they discover that they are able to communicate and together they make up a micro-society.

The French artist duo Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger combines visual art and performance art, information science, humanities and social studies in their works. During recent years they have found great recognition for their productions and in 2013 Germinal was performed at the prestigious Avignon Festival."
The production is performed as a visiting performance at BIT Teatergarasjen and Black Box Teater in September 2014, the latter as part of The Ibsen Festival 2014.
