Shame on you

The theatre production Shame on you by Theatre Nova is about:

*How a random meeting can reveal many secrets

*Filming oneself. At home. Alone and suddenly with somebody else

*That some stories are inflicted upon us by others

*Wondering which stories are true

*How feeling inadequate can lead to smart and less smart choices

*Acting roles in one’s own life

*Trying to help and being unable to make a difference

*That everyone is afraid to be overlooked and left

*How shame threatens the trust in the world and whatever you believe in

*That everyone is dependent of the glance of The Other

"He and She happened to meet in a boy’s room. A camera, a locked door and an assignment in common lead to secret dreams, stories and the revealing of expectations. The production shows a chamber play directed towards youth and adults who are interested in knowing more about the reality of youth."

Shame on you is a theatre production for youth/adults discussing and staging a group of youth’s connotations, stories and experiences related to shame in our day. Theatre Nova wanted to examine how young people talk about, construct and stage their identities and how they relate to the term shame within the family, the youth culture and ethnic identity.
