Ballett - Verksted -79* (Ballet - Workshop -79)

Ballett - Verksted -79* (Ballet - Workshop -79) (1979) was a ballet production by The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet. The production was performed in the opera's venue in the Folketeateret building. 

Ballett - Verksted -79 consisted of the world premieres of seven ballets:

Where are you going to? was choreographed by Margaret Ljunggren, to music by Michael Masser from the movie Mahogany.

The Picture of Dorian Gray was choreographed by Graham Woolnough, to music by Aaron Copland.

Spillopper* (Tomfoolery) was choreographed by Toni Herlofson, to music by Adam Khatsjaturian.

Underveis til en virkelighet* (Underway to a reality) was choreographed by Merete Bergersen, to music by Jan Garbarek.

Decadance was choreographed by Kjersti Alveberg, to music by Steve Kuhn.

Etude no. 3 was choreographed by Anne Staubo, to music by Edgar Varèse.

The three princesses of the blue mountain, based on the folktale about the three abducted princesses, in its Asbjørnsen & Moe version, was choreographed by Guri Pahle Glad to Norwegian folk songs and songs for children.

*Not yet translated into the English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning.

In her book Visions: Eye on Dance, Kjersti Alveberg writes about Decadance that it is "A sketch for six urban clowns inspired by trips to Amsterdam and Paris, where certain neighbourhoods are dominated by the decadence of narcotics and the sexual confusion of world-weary youth."
