"Love Letters is the story of life-long love, never brought to life, because of the inscrutable ways of destiny. Life didn't become what it was supposed to be, and late in life Melissa and Andy understand that they have turned down a greater love than most of us are allowed to experience.
Love Letters from 1988 by American A. R. Gurney was originally written as a story in letter form. The writer sent it to a magazine in New York, but it was returned with the notice 'We don't publish plays'."
