At the webpage of Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre) the following, among other things, is written about Little Eyolf:

"In the beginning of their marriage Rita and Alfred Allmers were passionately in love. But when little Eyolf as a new-born fell to the floor when mother and father were busy with one another, something happened to their relationship.

They have spent a long time accepting the lasting handicap Eyolf got. Now their life together is characterised by emotional cold and absence. Each tries to move on in his or her way. Alfred's attempts to write a pedagogical guide fails and Rita is engrossed with jealousy against her stepsister Asta, who in a strange way is closer to Alfred.

The performance of Ibsen's drama about the challenges of the parent role gets directly into one of the most important themes of our age. How do we want to be parents? How can our children succeed? Can love survive objections and accidents?"

Press coverage

Amund Grimstad, Skuld og forsoning (literally: Guilt and reconciliation), Klassekampen 31. mars 2014:

"Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre) in Molde invites to a modernised version of Little Eyolf, and in Peer Perez Øian's direction it opens rather differently. While Britt Elise Skram play traditional music on her fiddle, the ensemble dance through a kind of game of musical chairs, where Alfred Allmers is eventually alone onstage before the real action starts. The actors wear ordinary clothes, and Eyolf is in a Superman suit, and because of this we assume that the action and language will be modernised and set in our own time. But then it turns out that text and plot stand almost completely with the original."
