More

At the website of Black Box Teater the following, among other things, is written about To the Lighthouse:

"To the Lighthouse is based on Virginia Woolf's novel from 1927 by the same title. In a summerhouse by the coast we meet the Ramsey family. The youngest son James wants to go out to the lighthouse. Weather doesn't look too promising, but his mother doesn't want to discourage him. His father, on the other hand, considers it his duty to free his son of illusions. James thinks his father enjoys it, and hates him for it. Ten years go by and become past. Somebody dies. James finally goes out to the lighthouse. Everything is different, but for a short moment it may not be after all.

This is a production about what we see and about everything that takes place inside our heads. Inside our heads we are always alone. But because that is the same for everybody, we are sort of together in being alone. Do you see what I do? Do boys and girls see differently? And what is the difference between a moment and ten years? To find that out, you have to look inside somebody else's head. In the theatre that is possible!

Classics for Kids was started due to a wish to make literature classics available for children, and to offer them innovative theatre of high quality. The production is suitable for children aged ten years or more.
