At the webpage of Rogaland Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Oh My God:
"Decades before Mongoland and rich discoveries of oil in The North Sea, The Norwegian Mission Society established a productive movie central at its base in Stavanger. Projected on the white screen the stories about the missionary work went touring the houses of prayer all over the country, and the African Heathens came closer than any 'cousin at Gjøvik'.
In Oh My God we meet Jacob, who has completed his education as a priest and missionary. He is full of dreams and visions - but he has not yet gotten His Great Calling. After talking to God for years, he is told to establish a movie office in his home town. With the mission movies the faithful and the less faithful experience the results of the mission, seeing it with their own eyes. The message is to be broadcast all over the world - with the use of cellulose film, projector and screen.
With warmth and humour Rogaland Theatre takes a dive into our near history. Director Yngve Sundvor plays with reality, vision and truth, with a look at our greatest export article prior to the oil: the mission!"
