At the webpage of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Blackbird:
"Thought-provoking and strong about forbidden love
Twelve year old Una had an affair with 40 year old Ray. Fifteen years later she finds him where he works. She has lived beneath a shadow of judgment from her surroundings. He has served his time in prison and started a new life. What happens when she gets the change to tell the story the way she sees it? Are there more sides than one to the truth?
The Norwegian Theatre's long-time director Vidar Sandem finally makes his onstage comeback in this critically acclaimed production. It has already toured Norway with The Norwegian Touring Theatre, and VG found that our new star Marie Blokhus and Sandem represented «Strong interaction» in a «direct, inartificial, near» performance, worthy of five pips on the dice.
Strong description
Blackbird is an intense and thought-provoking confrontation between two persons, written by the award-winning playwright David Harrower. In his description of these two human beings and their unusual love affair, Harrower transcends what one perceives as right or wrong. The play is guaranteed to test your feelings and challenge your boundaries."
