The Mailman from Arles

The Mailman from Arles (1996) was a theatre production by The Arctic Theatre, based on a play by Ernst Bruun Olsen. The Mailman from Arles was the last performed of the productions celebrating The Arctic Theatre's 25th anniversary.

Nils Gaup directed it.

Nils Utsi played the role of the mailman Roulin.

Svenn B. Syrin played the role of Vincent van Gogh.

The Mailman from Arles is based on the last months of the painter Vincent van Gogh's life. The title refers to his loyal friend, the postal officer Joseph Roulin in Arles. Roulin is the subject of several of van Gogh's paintings.
