Baktruppen was denied entrance to De la Rue in Malta, the largest money factory in the world, due to security. This led to the performance Baktrüppen Light Metal Band. Dressed in shining armour, doubling as a percussion instrument, with tin cans, kettles, beer cans and an Icelandic armour Baktruppen highlights the complexity of capitalism.
During the so-called financial crisis the economic realities have shown their true nature: As illusions, lie and betrayal founded on a declining foundation of faith. In every country the central banks have left their basic concepts, stumbled between different principles of government and launched solution based on faith dogmas, not even attempting to give the impression of science. How can the formerly reality-based scientific subject of economy go so totally bankrupt? Which part about the mystic of money is making this possible? The performance Baktrüppen Light Metal Band is a musically engaging presentation of this complex issue.
