Faust/Massnamhe
Faust/Massnahme (1998) was a two-part production by Verdensteatret. Faust/Massnahme was built on several works; Goethe's Faust, Thomas Mann's Doctor Faustus and Franz Seitz' movie version of Mann's novel made the foundation for the first part.
Berthold Brecht's The Measures Taken (German title: Die Massnahme) was the foundation for the second part of the full-length production.
Faust/Die Massnahme was staged as the production of the month at Black Box Teater in March 1998.

"Goethe's Faust, Thomas Mann's Doctor Faustus and Franz Seitz' movie version of Mann's novel make the foundation for the first part of the performance, while The Measures Taken - or Forholdsregelen in Norwegian (Die Massnahme in German, Sceneweb's comment) makes up the second part of this full-length performance.
The two parts unite descriptions of Germany in the time between the two world wars, and the extremities of political ideologies. In the discussion of Nazism and communism, the idea foundation and similarities. In contrasting these central, controversial texts Verdensteatret continues its examination of new performing arts, while emphasising the role of the intellectual and the responsibility and attitude of the artist toward society."
