Udhavn Teater (Udhavn Theatre) writes the following about Bedre uten hund* (Better without a dog):

"The one-act play Bedre uten hund is built on the unfinished short story Blumfeld - an elderly bachelor and is about the very fastidious sheet factory worker Blumfeld.

He has just gotten home from work and is wondering if he should have had a dog to break the monotony of loneliness. He argues for and against, but the minuses outdo the pluses.

Still, yearning for company he listens to all the sounds outside the door of his flat, and one day it actually knocks - it never has before. But this very company it is extremely necessary for him to get rid of."
