Udhavn Teater (Udhavn Theatre) describes Earshot in the following manner:

"The main character is a lonesome man who fights to shut out all the sounds bothering his overly sensitive, incredibly able hearing.

He can hear everything: When a key is turned in one of the mailboxes downstairs, when the aspiring writer in the flat above curls his refusal letters, when the dentures scramble in the glass atop the fridge belonging to the neighbour's senile wife next door, and when the sensuous Valborg, living in the apartment next door at the other side, takes off her stockings.

He can even hear the grinding sound proving that Planet Earth is twirling in the universe."
