Landing08 in St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim

Landing08 in St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheimby Landing was a project in which the audience during ten days, from June 13 to June 22, got to see nine performances and three installations plus a dance movie, produced for different hospital rooms. The event also included workshops, morning exercise and a menu of short performances for patients and employees. In the café Ni Muser, which was for the occasion named Landingscafé artists and audience met to exchange experiences and thoughts regarding the project.

Landing08 in St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim was initiated and managed by the performing arts company Landing. One of the aims of Landing08 in St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim was reaching out to, entertain and enrich patients, give St. Olav employees a break from their busy working schedules and to invite the citizens of Trondheim to a different kind of guided tour in the new hospital.

The all in all 50 artists who in different ways were involved in the project found inspiration for new artistic expressions in old and new rooms in St. Olav’s Hospital. The productions were to a large degree produced in the hospital. The reality and distinct traits of the place had great influence on the artists as well as the expression.

Landing08 in St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim was made in collaboration between the artists of Landing DA and the hospital St. Olav’s Hospital. The venue of Avant Garden was a co-producer.

Landing08 in St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim was supported by Arts Council Norway, The Fund for Performing Artists, the county of Sør-Trøndelag and the municipality of Trondheim.
