Erase my skin (2001-2004) was a project-series of three different context-specific works.
The series questioned how experimental the experimental arenas arranged by Scandinavian institutional theaters really were. In Stockholm in 2002 and in Porsgrunn in 2002, Voksnebarn made a piece which started up as an autonomous psychological realistic performance (the concept outline set up by the curators). The performance then evolved into a mirroring of the situation it was being shown at, and thus changing the autonomous piece into a relational concept. The project divided the audience, and caused some angry theater workers to ask the group to follow the regulations, and write understandable stories next time.
A summary of the work with the actors and the text was presented at Black Box Theater and BIT-Teatergarasjen in 2003 under the name erase my skin. These contexts - being contrary to the platforms the project was originally made for - removed the relational aspect of the project.
