Through Teatertekstkontekst* (Theatre text context) 1996 BIT Teatergarasjen posed the following questions:
"How should Norwegian drama be diagnosed? Why do Norwegian playwrights insist that drama is professional theatre if they still forget, or never have learned, how to write? What use is there for drama that is neither inviting performing nor reading?"
Norsk Dramatikk: 14° (og vindstille)* (Norwegian Drama: 14 degrees Celsius, no wind) was arranged in Bergen from September 20 to 22 1996.
Among the events was a three-part seminar.
Part 1 was by Knut Ove Arntzen, Lisbeth J. Bodd and Cecilie Løveid. Arntzen talked about Fra kabaretdramaturgi til dramatikeren som teaterarbeider (literally: From cabaret dramaturgy to the playwright as a theatre worker), Løveid talked about: Dramatikk: Arkitektur og objekt (literally: Drama: Architecture and object) and Bodd told about: Verdensteateret's text work.
Part 2 of the seminar discussed Theatre text context - fiction & reality by Tom Jansen and Marianne Van Kerkhoven held her opening statement on 80's: Writing integrated in theatrical process. What will come next?.
Part 3 of the seminar included an opening statement from Georg Johannessen: Teater: fornuft - Underholdning? (literally: Theatre: Sense – Entertainment?) All the other panel members participated.
Siren Leirvåg moderated all the seminars.
Norsk Dramatikk: 14° (og vindstille)* (Norwegian Drama: 14 degrees Celsius, no wind) also showed three productions. These were: Se Luftskeppen* (See the Airship), Fantomet & Guran spiller klassikere* (The Phantom & Guran perform the classics) and Felix' kommende karriere* (Felix' future career).
In addition the writers/playwrights Øyvind Berg, Cecilie Løveid, Finn Iunker and Tom Jansen read texts of their own.
