In Krim Noir* (Crime Noir) Petrusjka Teater has examined the material for a criminal, erotic theatre production for youth and adults. Krim Noir was inspired by the German painters during the interwar period, film noir and the classic crime genre, put into a context of puppetry.
The limits for what is presented for the audience within the genres of crime and erotica have been stretched significantly the past few years. Using the possibilities and sensual expressions of puppetry Petrusjka Teater has stretched the limits further, within a humorous and ironic frame. All the clichés of crime are presented in an hour.
The dramaturgy was made with Fredrik Skagen as a crime consultant, closely followed by Halldis Hoaas as a dramaturgy consultant and Espen Dekko as the director.
In Krim Noir three partly visible puppeteers led puppets and objects in a production without text. The puppeteers manipulated the development of the intrigue. But the puppets had the main parts and the emphasis of the production.
