The Animals in the Hunchback Wood
The Animals in the Hunchback Wood (1959) was a puppetry production by Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre), based on a book by Thorbjørn Egner. The production was the world premiere of the puppetry version of the book.
Alfred Solaas directed it.
This was the very first stage version of The Animals in the Hunchback Wood, but its universe and songs were already familiar through Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's radio for children. Later Egner developed the stories into a new and more expansive stage version and a new and more expansive book.
