In Hulda and Garborg by Opera Omnia the action takes place around the time Arne Garborg left Oslo (then Kristiania), his marriage to Hulda and their first time together, in the cabin called Kolbotten in Tynset. At times a choir of six contributes to conveying the outer characteristics of the action. In content the opera Hulda and Garborg points out how they, first Hulda, then Arne, were gradually drawn towards the "subterraneous people", towards inexplicable powers, which we find again in Garborg’s poetry, in particular in his hulder verses.
The composer of the company, Glenn Erik Haugland, was in 2004 nominated for The Nordic Council Music Prize for his chamber opera Hulda and Garborg. The opera became a success among critics and audience when it had its world wide premiere in 2001.
