The Curators' Piece

(A trial against art)

The Curators' Piece is a production by Tea Tupajić and Petra Zanki (Bosnia and Herzegovina/Croatia).

The production questions the role and significance of art in contemporary times. The Curators' Piece is built like a project in which two Eastern European artists invite curators from leading institutions and festivals in Western Europe and USA to collaboration and dialogue.

"Relying on the relations between the artists, the curators and the audience, the performance deals with the possibility of art’s influence on today’s society (...) in the context of a staged trial against the arts, in which international curators take turn on the bench of the accused and defend the arts. Writer and date unknown, Dagens Nyheter [Sweden]:
"The conclusion - that a world without art is a dead world - is convincing."
