Silent Noise
Silent Noise by Katma was a performance about silence, produced by the end of the world.
Silent Noise by Katma was produced in an old cold storage on the pier in Andenes. The performance was based on research done on silence and boredom on islands in Scandinavia, by artists from Norway, Iceland and the Faeroe Islands.
Silent Noise started with a seven minute long walk in utter darkness. The audience was led by a voice heard in headphones guiding them on a silent walk.
"If you are silent, you will hear a great language"
Silent Noiseby Katma was supported by Arts Council Norway, AOF Vesterålen, the county of Nordland, The Fund for Performing Artists and The Audio Visual Fund.

"Catching and fascinating noise. The idea alone is worth a prize of its own. (...) Ingunn Sønsteby’s scenography is ingeniously simple, rich in expression and functional."
