The choreography Crossroads by Stellaris Dance Theatre is closely connected to meetings with the Russian sisters and friends of Solveig Leinan Hermo. The collaboration started many years ago and has developed over the years. This contact has provided Leinan Hermo dimensions beyond establishing new relationships across cultural and geographic borders.
Through the art of dance the performers have found a way to communicate where the languages and unwritten rules, plus the governmental rules, become hindrances. The work has been challenging and the performers have continuously been confronted with new issues. In many ways the choreography is a travelogue from a condition of collaboration between Stellaris Dance Theatre and Russian dancers, within which building bridges is central.
