Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) is a Swedish theatre company, established in 1997. The company has its base in a little community in the district of Bergslagen, where mining is a major industry.

Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) works with issues such as: What is nature? What is the human relationship to nature? Which options lie within the actor? Which ideas influence our way of living? Which subjects can get a new, true and revolutionary art expression to grow? Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) is inspired by Heiner Müller, Antonin Artaud, Bertolt Bercht and Tatsumi Hijikafa.

Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) regards performing arts and culture as possibilities to create change and democracy. The company wishes to make performing arts a place to discuss issues. The foundation is an idea that culture must be related to its contemporary time and that performing arts is important in examining human conditions.

Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) also is responsible for a publishing house named Maskinen Förlag. Since 2000 Teatermaskinen (The Theatre Machine) has worked for a meeting point for international performing arts and research in Bergslagen. The house is called Quatrohelixmaskinen, and in it a research laboratory for performing arts in meeting with other artistic expressions is planned located.
