Fyllingsdalen Nye Teater
Fyllingsdalen Nye Teater was a theatre company in Fyllingsdalen outside of Bergen, established in 1974 by Tove Rignereide (1946-2011), who also ran the company.
The theatre has been using different names: Teaterverkstedet (from 1974, literally this name means The Theatre Workshop), Fyllingsdalen Teaterverksted (literally: The Theatre Workshop of Fyllingsdalen) Fyllingsdalen Teater (from 1986, the name’s meaning is Fyllingsdalen Theatre) and last Fyllingsdalen Nye Teater (literally, Fyllingsdalen New Theatre).

Fyllingsdalen Nye Teater was established under the name of Teaterverkstedet and the first years it was located in German barracks (left over from the war) in Fyllingsdalen. The barracks have been significantly modernised and rebuilt and is now perceived as a theatre building of its own in the suburb.
Shortly after establishing the company Tove Ringereide’s live-in partner Stein Werner Rosenlund became a very important part of the theatre company, contributing to developing the theatre economically and artistically. Stein Werner Rosenlund passed away in 2006. Tove Rignereide died in 2011.
Fyllingsdalen Nye Teater has been one of the cultural contributors to children’s culture in Bergen, with a total of close to 150 productions, more than 4000 performances and more than half a million visitors.
The theatre company has fostered a number of Bergen stage talents throughout the years, including Marit Voldsæter, Kjersti Elvik, Reny Marie Folgerø Gossand plus several others who are or have been performing in The National Venue of Theatre in Bergen: Vidar Magnussen, Sturle Bjordal and Lykke Kristine Moen.
