Dyrsku'n Folkefest

Dyrskun Folkefest has grown to become the major farming exhibition and trade fair in Norway. Annually 80 000 Norwegians meet for this huge popular party where past, present and future go together. In Dyrskun one can experience folkloric plays, theatre, song, music and storytelling.

The whole thing began during the 1860es when Even Høyesen Nordgarden made part of his farm available for a cattle show in Seljord. The first years the trade was mainly concentrated around farm animals, but eventually, other goods entered the marked. The life and soul of the old marked still is preserved.
