Marita Isobel Solberg believes that every art form is connected and hence she works with the idea of changing materials and expression after the best ability for her various ideas. After Marita Isobel Solberg finished her MA at Oslo National Academy of The Arts she has been on residencies in Japan and America.
Solberg have travelled with The Dot Lady around the world doing performance in New York, London, Tokyo, Osaka, Shigaraki, Olderdalen, Karasjok, Tromsø, Tromsdalen, Paris, Avignon, Barcelona, Oslo, Vancouver and Helsinki. Marita Isobel Solberg is currently working with her band MARA & The Inner Strangeness, The Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters (Taiwan), the Legendary Antler Sisters (with Ida Walenius), Waiting for Tom/The Tom Waitress (Tom Waits interpretation project with Herborg Rundberg). She is also working at Tromsø Art school as a teacher.
Some of her very important inspirators are Tom Waits, Yoshitomo Nara, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Nick Cave, Marlene Dietrich, Buster Keaton, David Lynch and Robert Wilson.
