The Barber of Seville

The Barber of Seville is a opera by Giachino Rossini. The libretto was written by Cecare Sterbini and is based on Pierre Beaumarchais' play of the same title.

The action takes place in the Spanish city of Seville in the middle of the 18th century, in the house of Count Almaviva. 

The work is Rossini’s best-known opera, and was the high point in his career.
