Alone in the World (AKA Nobody's Boy)

Alone in the World is a novel by Hector Malot, published in France in 1878. The original title in French is Sans famille. It exists in different English translations, also using the title Nobody's boy.

The novel also has been translated into the Norwegian several times, by different translators. The first Norwegian translation, from 1879, used the Norwegian title Uden slægt (literally: Without Relatives), and it has later also been published using the titles Frendeløs (Norwegian Bokmaal) and Frendelaus (New Norwegian).

Alone in the World has been adapted for theatre, radio, film and TV, in several different versions.
