Dukkehuset* (The Doll's House)
Dukkehuset* (The Doll's House) is a poem by André Bjerke.
The poem starts as follows:
I dukkehuset i Dukkevei 2
(Literal translation, by Sceneweb's Lillian Bikset for Sceneweb:
In the doll's house in Doll Way 2
the luckiest doll in the world will be living.
With a lamp from the roof and the tiniest chairs
and a floral vase for a doll's violets,
and a flagpole with flag and a doll's garage,
and a kitchen with candy and cookies and soda
and in the innermost corner of the lowest floor
will the doll of the doll have a doll's house.)
*Not yet translated into English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning.
