Nightblind

Nightblind is a play by Darja Stocker (Switzerland), translated into the Norwegian by Øystein Ulfsberg Brager and Philip Thorne as Nattblind. The original title in German is Nachtblind.

The following description of the plot is from Oslo International Theatre. The company performed the play as a staged reading in 2011:

"Darja Stocker has been hailed as one of Switzerland's leading young, female playwrights after her breakthrough with Nightblind (Nachtblind). The play has been performed all across the German-speaking world and is also translated into the English.

The play is about the teenage girls Leyla whose boyfriend hits her. Her family background is not the best either, with a father cheating on her mother, a teenage brother seeking attention and a mother who finds that the family's façade is the most important thing. But when Leyla meets the hyperintelligent Moe, a boy who is totally different from all the other boys she has met - and the total opposite to her violent boyfriend - things begin to change. Nightblind tells a warm and sensitive story about the strength one can find in a friendship, and reminds us that it may very well end well."
