John Payne Collier
John Payne Collier was a controversial Shakespeare scholar and probably forger, journalist, writer and critic, born in London.
He wrote among other things The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Punch and Judy (1828), based on oral tradition and Italian Giovanni Piccini’s version.
