Rune Rebne

Rune Rebne, composer, (born 1961) has made instrumental and electro-acoustic concert music, besides working with music for modern dance and theatre. His works have been performed at different festivals in Norway and abroad. He received The Norwegian Society of Composers' award for Work of the Year in 1995.

Rune Rebne began his musical studies in 1985. He first studied music science at The University of Trondheim, then instrumental pedagogy at Rogaland Music Conservatory. From 1988 he studied composition at Norwegian Academy of Music under Olav Anton Thommessen, where he finished his candidate's degree the spring of 1993. In 1997 he got his composition diploma from the same academy, then as a student of Lasse Thoresen and Rolf Wallin.
