Geirdis Bjørlo

Geirdis Bjørlo (born 1952) is a Norwegian writer and director, puppetry maker and actress.

Geirdis Bjørlo has worked within independent performing arts from 1976. She was a member of the independent company called Teatret Rundt-Omkring in Bergen, and she has collaborated with Hordaland Theatre. For the time being she creates her own art projects. The projects mainly tour the county of Hordaland, but Geirdis Bjørlo has also been touring in the rest of the country.

Geirdis Bjørlo has published books for children, including To nissar (literally: Two Gnomes) and Kort til ein engel (literally: Postcard to an Angel), both at the publishing house Samlaget. Avtrykk (literally: Imprint, 2011) is her first book for adults.

Almighty Voice by Geirdis Bjørlo and Nordland Visual Theatre was nominated for the Hedda Award in the category of best production for children and youth in 2007. The same year it was nominated for the award of The Cultural Rucksack, Gullsekken (literally: the Gold Sack).
