Rattleshake - Lila vs. Rattleshop Inc. by Drivhuset sprung out from the world of computer games.
In the program of Black Box Teater and on the webpage of Rattleshake one could read the following about the content and form of the production (a slightly different chronology under than in the original source):
"A new trend, a new "craze" is on - Rattleshakes! The rattleshakes are neither puppets nor kicking marionettes, but robots living their real lives on the internet. Rattleshop Inc. attempts to get millions of children to fight the Rattle-Battle online.
The recipe for the next commercial wave follows familiar Japanese images. The stroke of genius by the corporation Rattleshop Inc is that millions of children can participate and influence the development of the series The Rattleshake Dimension through interactive participation online. But one child, Lila, takes another attitude. This creates an unexpected chain reaction among thousands of children and all of a sudden the corporation loses control over its own Rattleshakers.
Will Lila follow the strict system and become a Rattleshake master after all? What does she want? Can Lila’s choice affect the powerful Rattleshop inc., which is always pulling the threads?"
Freedom of speech and freedom to think in the meeting with massive, global marketing were among the issues discussed in the music and dance performance Rattleshake, which also used robots onstage.
