Looking for a Missing Employee by Rabih Mroué is based on a mystical disappearance case. Out of this story Rabih Mroué creates a tragicomic performance about an important issue. He takes a seat among the audience with a video camera directed at him, and equipped with notebooks filled with newspaper clippings he tries to solve the disappearance mystery. The two other performers also are at different places among the audience and they are assigned to draw the last movements of the missing person.

In Looking for a Missing Employee Mroué experiments with different media, examining the borders between absence and presence. Despite humorous qualities the subject remains serious; disappearances are not as unusual in Lebanon as in Norway.

Rabih Mroué was educated at Université Libanaise in Beirut. He is acknowledged to be one of the most important and exciting among Lebanese directors, but due to controversial political content his work is prohibited in his native country.

Looking for a Missing Employee by Rabih Mroué was supported by the theatre friend association Teatrets Venner and Trøndelag Theatre.
