The show can't go on

Digital theatre

The show can't go on (2020) was a digital theatre production by Rogaland Theatre, based on an essay by Roland Schimmelpfennig. The production was made available through Rogaland Theatre's Facebook site and through Youtube during the Corona crisis the spring of 2020. The recording was openly accessible in the time after it was first released, and the access was free.

Arild Østin directed it.

Ragnhild J. Tysse performed the monologue.

Schimmelpfennig's essay was written in German for the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, where it was published March 24 2020, using the English-language title The show can't go on (the rest of the text was in German). The text is about the reality for theatres during and after the Corona crisis, and it was quickly translated into several languages.
