Ikke bare rør* (Not just pipes)
The Four is a performance company based in Trondheim. The first performance was presented in Lademoen Bydelshus October 9 1996, when the company performed Øl* (Beer). Since then they have made a series of smaller and larger stunts in different contexts. The Four uses the whole world as a rehearsal room, and all the things in the world as instruments.
In 2001 Avant Garden co-produced the company’s The Norwegian Revolutionary Opera.
Ikke bare rør was supported by the municipality of Trondheim.

In the concert performance Ikke bare rør* (Not just pipes) by The Four Truls Lorentzen and Audun Eriksen play music using vegetables, air, light, warmth, the noses of the audience, pipes and a lot more. Different objects from the woods, the toy store, the supermarket, the factory and the kitchen are transformed into incredible instruments, and the music is conjured from thin air.
*Not yet translated into English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning. The word rør, however, has double meanings: It can mean pipes (as used in the production) as well as nonsense.
