At the webpage of Ferske Scener, the following, among other things, is written about The Northeast Passion:

"Welcome to the play for the wild Arctic!

While the Arctic ice disappears, we prepare to use 'the new land'. Seemingly, the battle is between those who want to protect it and those who want economic growth. But are there also other battles on? Which is the role of the scientists, in the play for the Arctic region?

The production of knowledge is enormous. But more knowledge does not necessarily lead to better insight. Who has the power to reach the media and explain the contexts? And how do we, the ordinary readers of news, relate to this new knowledge? Which images of the future Northeast Passage do we choose? Or maybe we don't choose at all?

Scientists and actors meet onstage, in a form shaped by the TV medium's infotainment. With the theatre's own Peer Gynt as a guide, we ask questions to the east and to the west, and we open the doors for The Northeast Passion.

The Northeast Passion was part of Researchers' Night 2013. September 27, in approximately 300 cities all over Europe, scientists opened the doors to their laboratories or they went onstage or to the streets to meet ordinary people. New performances are being planned.
