Nav betaler* (Social services pay for it)

Nav betaler* (Social services pay for it) (2019) is a planned theatre production by Bergen Borgerscene and The National Stage, based on a documentary text for the stage, devised especially for the production by Vibeke Havre Flesland. The production will be performed in The National Stage's venue Lille Scene.

Vibeke Havre Flesland directs it.

The performers are citizens of Bergen who tell their own stories. They are not professional actors.

Nav betaler is performed as part of Bergen International Festival 2019.

"Onstage are people who are, or who have been, unemployed. Are they jobseekers? Freeloaders? Or are they perhaps 'between jobs'?

Working is an important value in our society. How does it feel not to have a job?

Nav betaler is a production about a changing society, about challenges and opportunities. The performance poses questions concerning the system and the way we manage human resources.

Bergen Borgerscene, formerly called Folkets festspillscene, creates unique theatre performances in which the people onstage are not actors, but participants in force of being themselves."
