More

At the website of The Norwegian Touring Theatre the following, among other things, is written about The Birds:

"Mattis and his older sister Hege live alone, in very simple conditions. She knits to make a living, but whenever Mattis finds a job, his work tends to derail for him. He lives mostly in his own world. One day, he discovers a woodcock above the roof of the house. He comes to think of himself as such a strange bird, and he interprets this as a sign something is about to happen. Not long after, lighting strikes, hitting one of the tall trees outside of the house. He sees this, too, as an omen. He has called those very same treetops Mattis-and-Hege. And when the lumberjack Jørgen shows up, and is given a bed in their house, and Hege and Jørgen eventually become a couple, Mattis feels as if his whole life is transformed. What shall he do? Mattis is unable to withstand a life without Hege."
