"They laugh at something we don't know about, and they lead secret lives on their mobile phones. Who are they? What do they want? Where are they going? Youth can be hard to get to know, but in this performance, we get a unique glance into young people's realities.
In 2017, director and playwright Vibeke Flesland Havre followed a group of young people over four months. Through a series of gatherings, they shared their own experiences. Onstage, they take part as themselves and not as actors. The result is a performance that gives a reflected, vulnerable and honest picture of being young today.
Awakens involvement
Citizen theatre has become very popular across Europe. In this theatre genre, 'ordinary people' directly take part in the creative process, and they perform onstage as themselves. The framework is made by professional artists.
– The aim of citizen theatre is to examine the limits for what theatre is and can be. The performances reach into people's realities and have awakened great involvement."
