LydSol* (SoundSun)
- a live installation
LydSol* (SoundSun) by Ning was a live installation – a combination of sound installation, performing arts and concert. The audience moved through several rooms all filled with sound. Some were also filled with light, smoke and performers. The work was produced in collaboration with the festival ILIOS 2006 and it was performed as part of The Cultural Rucksack in the municipality of Oslo in April 2008, in collaboration with Black Box Teater.

All sound presented by Ning in the installation LydSol* (SoundSun) originated in a cello hanging freely in the room. From the cello went nylon lines attached to the strings of the cello. The performer could play on these lines with bows, causing the cello to sound. This sound material also made the foundation for the other sound installations connected to the work.
Ning is a contemporary music ensemble working with physical, theatrical and visual aspects of musical performance. Central to the ensemble's work is the music’s creating role in interdisciplinary collaboration. As of today the ensemble is based around four members, but Ning also works as a network for other artists interested in the connections between sound, room and performative expressions.
LydSol was supported by Arts Council Norway and The Cultural Rucksack. In Black Box Teater LydSol was only performed during daytime for school children.
