At the website of Kilden Theatre the following, among other things, is written about St. Valentine:
"The musical brings the audience to ancient Rome and the sainthood legend of the priest and doctor Valentine. He opposed the emperor Claudius II and as a result suffered the death of a martyr. His last letter prior to his execution makes up the background for contemporary celebrations of Valentine's Day February 14.
Fjæreheia, with its capacious, dramatic expression, is the perfect place for the performance of the fated story. The musical is locally connected, as it is created in Fjære, and it has been performed thrice in Italy with well-known Italian performing artists in the central roles.
- This is a really good musical, with romance and tragedy. I am looking forward to it, director Bentein Baardson says.
The music of St. Valentine ranges from rock to ballads, with some Gregorian chants. Elements on stage will provide visual power and dynamics with similarities to ancient amphitheatres used in the Italian productions. More than 80 persons take part onstage, and several of the professionals have started their careers in Fjæreheia. Young performing artists and talents also take part as extras, dancers and choir singers in this large and exciting collaboration."
