"Scene 3 opens with a newly written text by Kristin Auestad Danielsen about a situation experienced by an increasing number of young adults. Mari has actually done well in most things, and yet she has moved back into her old room at her parents', overwhelmed by life and unable to handle it."
"Mari is a young woman whose ducks are in a row. Still, she lies quiet in her childhood room, back home with her parents, exhausted and overwhelmed.
She has just completed a master's degree in Stockholm, her family background is solid, she is economically secured and stems from a rural society in which her network is good. And yet she has capitulated. It all feels too much for her.
We sense an undercurrent of something. Is she depressed, and what really went wrong? Is it about her relationship to her parents, did anything happen in her relationship with her ex in Sweden, or is she grieving an event too heavy to carry?
In Vår vesle, playwright Kristin Auestad Danielsen writes about a condition that has become more widespread in recent years. Young people who should not apparently be in difficult positions, feel completely overwhelmed by life and are unable to get on. A condition that has scientists debate, and that is given more attention in literature. When scales tip, is the reason lack of time, the strive for the perfect, or a lack of ability to find the balance? In Vår vesle, the young woman is who has once again become a passenger in the lives of her parents."
